New Monster: Cycloposaurus Rex

"Grown and raised in the mushroom caves of the myconids as guardian beasts, the great Cycloposaurus Rex has since gone feral... at least as much as any fungus can be said to have ever been tame."

"Wait... that thing is a mushroom?"

"Indeed. Neither plant nor animal, yet it will gain its sustenance from either. But beware the eye! For it sees all..."

"I can just cast a spell to hide us all."

"Which part of
'it sees all' didn't you understand?"

"Beyond the danger of it's vision, you must beware looking it in the eye."

"Or... what?"

"It can steal your very soul!"

The Cycloposaurus Rex is the greatest fungal growth ever cultivated by the myconids. Grown specifically to protect their caves, the Cycloposaurus Rex has gone feral, and can now be found anywhere in the underdark wilderness, and even in some larger ruins on the surface.

They aren't particularly fast, but they can see invisible, ethereal, astral, etc. unerringly. They are drawn to the radiation of magical items, and collect them as they can. They are also highly territorial, and are never found in groups larger than a pair. In combat they have a mighty kick, but can also mesmerize their prey (as per the hold person/monster/animal spells) to kill at their leisure, leaving the bodies to decompose into food on their own. As fungal creatures, they take half damage from fire and cold, are immune to sleep, charm, and hold spells, and they can only be harmed by magical weapons.
